Two 18-year-old boys from a high school in Mossel Bay who allegedly filmed themselves allegedly raping a fellow learner at a house party, did not attend school on Monday.
A Spokesperson for the Department of Education in the Western Cape Bronagh Hammond described the allegations as extremely concerning and offered any assistance to the victim.
The 18-year-old victim who is a grade 11 learner was drinking at a party over the weekend when she fell asleep.
It is alleged that she later woke up and discovered that she was undressed and had been raped.
A friend showed her a video of the incident where the boys were filmed raping her.
The suspects allegedly distributed the footage amongst fellow learners.
The victim has laid a rape charge at the KwaNonqaba police station and the video is currently in their possession.
Hammond says the accused are all in grade 12.
No arrests have been made.
