A 15-year-old female learner from an Eastern Cape school is missing at sea near East London.
NSRI spokesperson, Craig Lambinon, says an extensive search was conducted on Thursday following reports of a drowning at Palm Springs Holiday Resort.
He says the NSRI East London duty crew, a police dive unit and K9 search team responded.
The missing learner was part of a group of 13 teenagers who were on a school outing.
Lambinon says it is suspected that she was swept underwater by a rip current.
