A 15-year-old boy from Great Brak River near George was stabbed to death on a school bus early on Thursday morning.
Southern Cape police spokesman Captain Malcolm Pojie said the teenager was on his way to school when a fellow-passenger - also believed to be a pupil - stabbed him in the chest.
"We don't know the circumstances yet, but as far as we know the young victim managed to get off the bus at a stop on the R102 near Sinksabrug after the incident.
An ambulance picked him up, but he died on his way to hospital," Pojie said.
"At this stage we are not sure if there was an altercation between the two or even which school they were on their way to. We are busy investigating."
