A primary school teacher from Mossel Bay made his first court appearance in the town's Magistrates court on Friday.
The 43-year-old Grade 7 teacher was arrested at his home on Wednesday on charges of rape, sexual grooming and sexual assault.
Police Spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies says they also confiscated electronic equipment from his home.
He says the alleged rapes occurred between 2019 and 2020 at various premises in Mossel Bay.
Sergeant Spies says more charges could be added as the investigation unfolds.
The suspect, who is married with two children, has spent the last two nights sleeping in the holding cells in Mossel Bay.
The name of the teacher is known to Algoa FM News but he cannot be named to protect the identities of the victims and his children.
The matter was postponed to the 4th of October for further investigation.
