Taxi operators to appear in Bizana court following violent protest

Twenty four taxi operators are due to appear in court in Bizana on Wednesday  following a protest on Monday night that turned violent.

A policeman was shot in the arm during the fracas when the taxi operators blockaded roads demanding that they be tarred.

Lieutenant Khaya Tonjeni says the policeman was treated in hospital before being discharged.

He says some shops were also vandalised during the incident.
