Tarkastad police are investigating a case of murder after a 20-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by a teenager.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Louis Stone, says the incident took place at a local tavern in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He says a 17-year-old youth was involved in a argument with another person and when the victim tried to intervene he was stabbed in the chest

Stone says he died on the way to hospital.

He says the teenager was arrested and will appear in court this week.
