Tarkastad man arrested for murdering teenage girlfriend

A 28-year old man will appear in court on Monday for allegedly murdering his 18-year old girlfriend in Tarkastad in the Eastern Cape.

Police captain Stephanie Smith says the motive for the attack is unknown.

She says the incident happened in the Zola area, and the man was arrested on Sunday morning.

Smith says the man allegedly assaulted the woman, and she died at the scene.
