Two Eastern Cape men have received five year suspended jail sentences for killing a man in a fight in a village near Dutywa in 2010.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, says Ziphozihle Sigwayi and Vuyolwethu Gogogo, were sentenced in the Butterworth Regional Court on Wednesday.
However, he says the sentences were wholly suspended for a period of three years.
The pair were 17 years old at the time that they got into the fight with 22-year-old Mbongeni Kulata in Colosa Village at Dutywa.
A 20-year-old Eastern Cape man appeared in the Bityi Periodical Court for allegedly raping a 59-year old woman.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela says the case against him was postponed to July 2 for a formal bail application.
He says the suspect was arrested on Tuesday after the community assisted police with apprehending him.
Fatyela says the man allegedly raped the woman while she was on her way home from her relative's house.
