Eastern Cape police are investigating cases of Attempted Robbery and Attempted Murder, after a grocery store was robbed in Despatch.
Spokesperson, WO Marianette Olivier says three men, two of them armed with firearms, on Wednesday entered the store, threatened the workers and demanded cash.
She says a customer, who left the shop a few minutes earlier, saw what happened and went back into the shop, where he threw a 6 pack of milk against one robber's head.
Olivier says one of the robbers shot him in the leg and fled the scene in a white Ford Escort.
She says the 40 year old customer, who is from Despatch, was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
