Five men who were arrested after they were found in the possession of alleged stolen VW Polo car parts worth over a million Rand have made their first court appearance where only four of them were granted bail.
Police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart says the men were arrested at premises in Market Street, Uitenhage on Saturday.
Members of the Port Elizabeth Flying Squad and Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit, who were acting on a tip-off, found two crates containing suspected stolen VW Polo headlights.
The 23-year-old Bernard Wehmeyer, 27-year-old Raul Damons was released on bail of R10 000 each.
Swart says the 30-year-old Steve Klassen and 32-year-old Larry Gouws were also granted bail of R10 000 but will remain in custody until the amount is paid.
All four must be back in court on the 13th of March.
The 30-year-old Bulelani Ngesi remains in custody and will be back in court next week.
