Police in Port Elizabeth have arrested four of seven suspects involved in an armed robbery at a clothing store in William Moffet on Tuesday morning.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says one of the suspects entered the store at about 9.30 am with a gun and threatened staff members.
She says moments later the suspect's six accomplices stormed the store and grabbed sneakers and clothes before fleeing in two separate vehicles, a white Toyota Etios and a silver bakkie.
Naidu says information regarding the robbery circulated within minutes and various police units immediately worked together to block various roads in the area.
She says the suspects in the bakkie noticed the police vans on the corner of 4th Avenue and Alexander Road in Newton Park, jumped out and fled by foot.
Naidu says members were, however, able to apprehend the four suspects aged between 19 and 29 and recovered all of the stolen goods.
They are expected to appear in court later this week.
The three suspects who fled in the Etios are still at large.
