Police in Mdantsane, East London, have arrested four suspects following an armed robbery at a Somali owned spaza shop.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenat Nkosikho Mzuku says the arrests were made within an hour of the robbery in Welcomewood location near King Williams on Wednesday night.
He says the men aged between 26 and 36 were arrested by members on patrol after fleeing the robbery scene in a Toyota Avanza without number plates.
Mzuku says police recovered several firearms and ammunition.
He also says that goods stolen from the Somali-owned spaza shop were recovered.
The suspects will appear in the Mdantsane Magistrates court soon.
