Port Elizabeth police have arrested three suspects in connection with a gang shooting in Helenvale.
Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says three men opened fire on a vehicle yesterday and wounded all three occupants.
One person was shot in the chest and the leg and the other two both in the legs.
Van Rensburg says the shooters fled on foot in the direction of Stanford Road.
They were spotted later by a police patrol.
A shoot out between the men and the police ensued. The suspects were finally arrested when they were cornered behind a hut.
Police confiscated two firearms. The men are expected to appear in court on Monday.
