Eastern Cape police will oppose any bail application by a 19-year-old Hankey man who is in custody for the brutal murder of a 13-year-old boy.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Basil Seekoei, says the susptect handed himself over to police on Wednesday afternoon.
He will appear in court in Hankey on Friday on a charge of murdering Maxwell Plaatjies.
The boy's body was found on Tuesday morning near a canal.
He had reportedly been stabbed as many as 27 times.
