A 29-year-old man appeared in court in Port Elizabeth on Monday in connection with the 2019 murder of a private security escort.
Police said Usisipho Zozi, was arrested on Friday, two years after 33-year-old Denver Koll, was gunned down in New Brighton while providing an armed escort for a furniture company.
It is believed that Zozi and one other suspect approached 33-year-old Denver Koll who was escorting a furniture delivery truck with his BMW, before shooting him in the head in Dora Street, in New Brighton.
The suspects fled in the furniture truck which was later found abandoned.
Zozi was linked to the crime through forensic evidence and was eventually arrested while driving in a VW Polo in Mbekweni Street in Veeplaas on Friday afternoon.
He will appear in court next week for a formal bail application.
