A 30-year-old suspect, Shadreck Mhetu, made a brief appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on Tuesday in connection with the murder of Desmond Share.
Mhetu was also charged with the hijacking and kidnapping of the 52-year-old Hartenbos residents.
He was reported missing by his family last Tuesday after leaving to work in Herbertsdale.
Search teams found Share's body in a bushy area near Albertinia on Saturday, and according to the police, he suffered several injuries.
The exact cause of death is not yet known.
Police said Mhetu was arrested in Du Noon in Cape Town, while three more suspects, who may be connected to Share's murder, are still at large.
Mhetu will remain in custody until his next court date on 15 August when he will formally apply for bail.
