A 37-year-old man has made a brief appearance in the Kenton on Sea Magistrate's court in connection with the murder of 33-year-old Nomfundo Patricia Bloom from East London.
The body of the mother of two young children was found close to the R72 on the first of this month.
She had been severely assaulted.
Captain Mali Govender says detectives made use of their informer network and several people came forward with information, which lead to the arrest.
The accused has been remanded in custody and will be back in court on the 16th of March for a possible bail application.
The motive for the murder is still under investigation.
