A 21-year-old man from Kariega was remanded in custody on Friday after appearing in court in connection with the death of 15-year-old schoolboy, Ferguson Volmink.
Police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart, said Luther Plaatjies will appear in court again next Tuesday on a charge of aggravated robbery.
Meanwhile, she said a 16-year-old youth will be charged with Volmink's murder and will make his first appearance at Nerina House on Monday as he is a minor.
Police said earlier that the teenager was on his way to school on Wednesday morning with friends when he was accosted by a group and stabbed in the chest.
His father rushed to the scene and took his son to the hospital, where he later died.
Volmink was a learner at McCarthy Comprehensive School.
