A 37-year-old suspect is in police custody following his arrest by Kabega Park Detectives in Gqeberha on a charge of murder.
Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the suspect was arrested just hours after allegedly killing a man and leaving his body in Luyiso Crescent in Greenbushes.
She says the 47-year-old victim, John Mehlo was involved in an argument at the Kuyga community centre and when he left the community hall he was allegedly followed by the suspect.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says the victim was assaulted and killed with a plank with nails.
She says detectives immediately followed up on information and arrested the suspect at his home in Kuyga.
He will appear in the local Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
