Port Elizabeth police arrested a suspect just hours after he and accomplices allegedly robbed a cash loans business in Grahamstown.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans, says the suspect was arrested in Walmer Boulevard late on Tuesday afternoon.
He says it's alleged that the suspect was returning a hired car to the airport when he was nabbed.
Grahamstown police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, confirmed the armed robbery of the cash loans business the same afternoon by several suspects.
The suspects entered the store, situated in the CBD and tied the victims up, before fleeing with an undisclosed but substantial amount of cash.
Emergency services withing the neighbourhood clusters were alerted and two hours later the vehicle was pulled over by the K9 unit in Port Elizabeth.
She says the men fled with a substantial but undisclosed amount of cash.
The man's accomplices are still at large.
