Eastern Cape police have arrested a suspect and are searching for a second in connection with the murder of a 59-year-old woman from Storms River.
This, after a Storms River police patrol came across an overturned car on the N-2 at around midnight on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Basil Seekoei, says one man was injured in the accident while the driver fled the scene and is still at large.
He says the car was identified as belonging to the victim and upon questioning the injured suspect police found her body in bushes near the N-2.
Seekoei says the woman, who has not yet been identified, had bruises on her upper body and face.
The suspect was arrested on charges of Murder and theft out of motor vehicle but is currently under police guard in the Kareedouw Hospital and will appear in the Stormsriver Magistrates Court soon. One suspect is at large police need community assistance to apprehend the suspect.
