Eastern Cape police arrested a 25-year-old suspect on Sunday following the fatal stabbing of a Storms River policeman.
Twenty-six-year-old Constable Amos Cupido, who was attached to the Storm River Visible Policing Unit, died in hospital on Saturday after sustaining several stab wounds.
He was off-duty at the time.
Provincial police spokesperson, Captain Khaya Tonjeni, said the station commissioner received a report at around 19.20 on Saturday night from the local station about a member who has been stabbed.
He said Cupido was found sitting in the passenger seat of a car covered in blood and was immediately rushed to a hospital
Tonjeni said he died about an hour later.
He said the suspect was arrested on Sunday and is due to appear in the Humansdorp Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
