Suspect arrested for murder of beloved PE businessman

Port Elizabeth police have arrested a 21 year old man in Gelvandale in the city's northern areas in connection with the murder of Malabar businessman, Naeem Desai.
Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the suspect was arrested on Saturday for an alleged attempted murder which was committed in November 2015 in Gelvandale. She says while he was detained, investigators from the Gang Task Team positively linked him to Desai's murder on the 12th of May.
The 47-year-old Desai was shot while he was busy delivering bread at a local spaza shop in Helenvale.Desai's co-workers, who were in the shop at the time, heard gunshots and rushed outside where they saw four men fleeing the scene.Desai's firearm was stolen.
The suspect will appear in the Port Elizabeth magistrate court on Wednesday.
