Eastern Cape police have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with the murder of 65-year-old Matthys van Niekerk on a farm near Hofmeyr.
Last month, police were summoned to a farmhouse along the R-390 between Hofmeyr and Nxuba where they found Van Niekerk's body with stab wounds to the upper body.
Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli says police followed up on information about the suspect's whereabouts, and he was traced and apprehended on Friday while hiding in a bushy area a few kilometers outside Hofmeyr.
He is due to appear in the Cradock Magistrate's Court on Monday on a charge of murder.
