Police have arrested a 27-year-old suspect following a vicious panga attack on a couple on an early morning walk in Plettenberg Bay on Tuesday.
Western Cape police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk said the man was arrested at around 21:30 on Wednesday in Qolweni in Plettenberg Bay.
He said both victims, a woman, a 70-year-old woman, and her 73-year-old husband, who were attacked in Challenge Drive, have been discharged from hospital.
The incident made headlines after CCTV captured the incident involving the man reportedly armed with a panga.
Van Wyk said the man will appear in court once he has been charged.
