Eastern Cape police are still searching for five suspects who robbed a couple on a farm at Alicedale on Wednesday last week.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Sibongile Soci says they are following up on all leads and have asked anyone with information to come forward.
The victims were identified by the Freedom Front Plus as 49-year-old Andrie Fox and his 48-year-old wife Erica, who is a retired police officer.
The family has now offered a reward of R250 000 for any information that could lead to the arrest of those involved.
According to police, Andrie was tied up and his wife Erica was forced to open their safe.
The suspects stole two shotguns, a pistol and a revolver as well as $1 000 in cash, diamonds, tanzanite and an Apple iPhone.
Colonel Soci says the reward on offer is not from SAPS but a private offer from the family, who has the right to do so.
She says there is a specific process involved before SAPS can offer rewards.
Colonel Soci says, however, that there is constant communication between the Investigating Officer and the family.
