Strong winds cause severe damage in parts of Mossel Bay

Severe damage to fences, rooftops and gardens were reported in Mossel Bay on Monday night, following winds of up to 85km per hour.

Municipal spokesperson, Nickey le Roux says strong winds, rain and hail were reported across the Greater Mossel Bay area.

She says power outages were reported in Midbrak, Voorbaai and KwaNonqaba and that technicians had their hands full with repair work in these areas.

Le Roux says wind damage was reported at the Life Bay View Private Hospital as well as at a local Mossel Bay store.

Several roads in the town were also blocked with fallen trees.
