Transnet National Ports Authority has confirmed that 3 stowaways have been discovered on a vessel at the Port of Ngqura last week.
Spokesperson, Margorie Makama says the three people from Ghana were assessed by Port Health and were found to be of no health risk.
She says following the outbreak of Ebola in West Africa, Transnet has put measures in place to safeguard the country's harbours.
Makama says a cabin was allocated for the stowaways aboard the vessel and they sailed with the ship when it left.
