The church bell that was stolen from the Free Reformed Church in Great Brak River has been found.
The 45-year-old bell was stolen from the church tower last week.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Lauriane Botha says they found the bell at a scrap metal yard in George.
The bell is valued at R70 000 and was sold for R476.
Sgt Botha says the owner of the scrap metal yard will be charged for being in possession of stolen goods.
She says the theft case is still being investigated and no arrests have yet been made.
