St Francis Bay police are searching for a suspect who attacked a couple in their home in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police spokesperson, lieutenant-colonel Priscilla Naidu, says the man gained entry to the house by allegedly lifting a sliding door off its track.
She says an intruder tied up a man and his 42 year old wife before taking cellphones, bank cards and other items.
The homeowner was also stabbed in the leg and was taken to a Port Elizabeth hospital for treatment.
A case of armed robbery and housebreaking is under investigation.
