A 14-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool at St George's Park in Port Elizabeth on Thursday.
Netcare 911's Chris Botha says reports from the scene indicate that life guards spotted the child at the bottom of the pool.
Attempts were made to resuscitate him but he was confirmed dead at the scene.
Another two boys, aged 9 and 11, drowned late yesterday afternoon at Swartkops.
Police say the incident happened at Chetty River, behind Sea-salt when a group of about 7 young boys went swimming in the river without adult supervision.
It appears that the 11 year-old tried to rescue the 9-year old, but tragically they both drowned.
The bodies of the two boys, from Zwide Township, were found by divers.
Meanwhile: Uitenhage police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Gerda Swart reports that a 58 year-old woman from the Netherlands drowned at Cape St Francis at about 5pm on Thursday afternoon.
The body has been recovered and police have opened an inquest docket.
