Mossel Bay police have arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with the fatal stabbing of the 12-year-old son of a policeman.
A police spokesperson said that a second boy survived the attack in Scholtz Street in Kwanonqaba Monday night.
The victim has been identified as Chulumanco Nonduzube, a learner from St Blaize Primary School.
Eyewitnesses told police that the injured boy ran into a house in Mooney Street in High Way Park, where he collapsed.
Police said Chulumanco was rushed to a private hospital with two stab wounds to his lower back, however he died later.
The second boy is being treated in hospital.
Police say the motive for the attack is not yet known.
