A Gqeberha man who has been charged with the murder of his father, made a brief appearance in the city's magistrates court on Tuesday.
The State alleges that 30-year-old Juan Kolesky is behind the murder of his father, Anton, at the family's Rowallan Park residence in August 2020.
The 50-year-old Anton was shot and killed inside his house in Rademeyer Street and died at the scene.
Kolesky's arrest came nearly four years after the crime had taken place.
He was arrested in connection with the murder in June, while he was in custody on an unrelated case of house robbery.

It is understood that cell phone evidence, which allegedly includes messages in which he planned to have his father murdered, linked the accused to Anton's death.
During a previous court appearance, Kolesky abandoned his bid for bail.
The State confirmed that the matter is trial-ready and ready to be transferred to the High Court.
Kolesky will appear in court again on 19 August.
