Port Elizabeth police are investigating a case of attempted murder and armed robbery at a Somali owned shop in the city.
Warrant Officer Gwe says the robbery took place on Monday night in Govan Mbeki avenue where two Somalians were shot and another two assaulted with a firearm.
Gwe says there was a shoot out between the robbers and the Somalians.
In the cross fire a 17 year old boy was shot and taken to Dora Nginza hospital.
She says the remaining four Somalian nationals were arrested for the possession of unlicensed firearms and are due to appear in the New Brighton Magistrates court on Wednesday.
Gwe says the 7 suspects, who are still at large fled in a black vehicle with an undisclosed amount of money.
