Buffalo City has welcomed a major boost in its effort at positioning itself as a film location.
Popular Generations stars Luthuli Dlamini and Katlego Danke are among the stars currently filming the movie "360 degrees, a sacrifice" in East London.
Production manager Pamela Mago says they will rope in local youth with a keen interest and raw talent in the film industry.
She says over R1m has been spent at this stage of the production, with filming to be wrapped at the end of January.
Mago says the movie will be released in August this year.
Buffalo City spokesperson, Keith Ngesi, says through the production they hope to position Buffalo City Metro as a future film location.
"The municipality is honored to be the film destination of choice for the production. We hope and believe that that this initiative will open doors for more films shot in the City. We embrace the idea and are in full support of it," said Ngesi.
