SMME contractors in Nelson Mandela Bay have concluded a meeting with members of the mayoral committee and the Acting Municipal Manager.
They held a protest on Wednesday morning outside City Hall and other government building in Govan Mbeki.
Mhleli Peter, the spokesperson for the contractors, says a draft document which entails how SMME's should benefit from big contacts was discussed at this morning's meeting.
Peters says they also discussed SMME contractors being given appointment letters without contracts as well as the non payment of contractors.
"There was a draft document stating how SMME contractors should benefit in the metro, since six months ago there has been no adoption on that. Next Tuesday there will be a workshop informing all the councillors that did not know about it. At the next council meeting a decision will be taken." says Peter
