Six perish in weekend EC crashes

The Eastern Cape Transport Department says six people were killed in four separate accidents in the past 24 hours.

Spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, says two pedestrians were among those killed after being knocked down in Mooiplaas and Mthatha.

He said two more people were killed in a crash on the R-61 between Ngcobo and Cofinvaba while two more people perished in an accident in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).

Binqose said culpable homicide dockets have been opened in all of the cases.
