Six people were killed in a horror crash between two vehicles in the Eastern Cape on Wednesday.
The Provincial Transport Department said the accident happened at about 17h30 on the N2 at Nciba Cuttings at Komga in the direction of Butterworth.
Department spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, said the deceased were three men and three women while two other people in the one car sustained severe injuries.
He said they were rushed to Frere Hospital for further medical attention.
“The circumstances surrounding the cause of the accident are still unknown at this stage,” he said.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened by Komga SAPS for further investigation.
