Six killed in EC after taxi collides with bakkie

Six people were killed in a horror accident on the road between Mount Coke and East London on Tuesday.

The Eastern Cape Transport Department says a taxi collided head-on with a bakkie.

Five women and a man died in the accident.

Department spokesperson Unathi Binqose says 12 people were transported to local hospitals in East London.

He says a case of culpable homicide has been opened.
