A brother and sister have been killed when gunmen attacked a house in Mthatha.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela, says three gunmen, armed with a rifle and hand-guns, opened fire on a family in their home in Waterfall Park after 8pm Sunday night.
He said a 25-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were killed while their 51-year-old mother was shot in the lower body.
Fatyela said she's in critical condition in hospital.
A three-year-old child sustained a minor injury while three other people in the house were unhurt.
Fatyela says the motive for the brutal attack is still under investigation but police are following up “leads”.
