An attempted cash-in-transit robbery took place early this morning in Walmer in Gqeberha.

An attempted cash-in-transit robbery took place early this morning in Walmer in Gqeberha.
Police Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says at half past 6, the complainant, who a private security company employs was collecting cash from a chain store in Buffelsfontein Road.
She says on his way back to his vehicle he heard two shots being fired and rushed back to his car.
The complainant told police he noticed two suspects running towards a light-coloured bakkie that was stationary at an ATM.
The bakkie fled the scene; nothing was stolen, nor was anybody injured.
