Police have confiscated fireworks valued at nearly R100 000 from a shop in King William's Town, which were for sale without the required licence.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Siphokazi Mawisa, says they were tipped off about the illegal sale of fireworks and arrested a 25-year-old Chinese national at his shop in Walker Street.
They also confiscated 44 boxes of fireworks valued at R95 000 rand.
The man will appear in court on Wednesday for dealing in explosives without a licence.
