Former Southern Kings Director of Rugby, Alan Solomons says bad refereeing decisions and a flawed system contributed to the fact that the team has been eliminated by the Lions from Super Rugby for at least the next two years.
Although the Kings won Saturday's second promotion-relegation match 23 - 18, they fell short by only 2 points to secure their place in the Super Rugby competition.
Speaking to AlgoaFM News from OR Tambo international airport, on his way to his new assignment with Edinburgh, Solomons expressed his disgust with the situation.
"I think it is absolutely shocking for us to have been given Super rugby on the 16th of August and very little time to prepare. We had an amazing season and it now boils down to bad decisions from referee's to take us out of Super rugby. I think that is absolutely shocking and a tragedy for South African rugby that no-one is doing anything to ensure that we stay at the forefront" he said.
