Police in the Eastern Cape have arrested a total of 16 Clicks protesters in Komani and Jeffreys Bay respectively.
Spokesperson Colonel Sibongile Soci says five suspects were arrested on Wednesday for malicious damage to property at a Clicks store in the Nonesi Mall in Komani.
The suspects briefly appeared in the Queenstown Magistrates Court and where released pending further investigation.
The suspects were identified as Lutando Amos (39) Xolani Skeyi (31), Luvuyo Magquzu (28 ) Linda Mdlokolo (33) and Nolubabalo Cengani (26).
Soci says more arrests could not be ruled out.
On Friday, 11 protesters between the ages of 24 and 49 are expected to appear in the Humansdorp Magistrates' Court following their arrest on Thursday at the Fountains Mall in Jeffreys Bay.
The protesters failed to comply with a court order and allegedly threatened Clicks employees and their customers in the mall.</p
