Residents from different informal settelments in Mdantsane in East London held a service delivery protest early on Tuesday morning.
Police spokesperson, lieutenant Nkosiko Mzuku, says they burnt tyres and blocked part of the Qumza Highway which leads to the entrance to Mdantsane from East London.
He says police did not have to take any action.
Amongst the issues that, they were complaining about was Houses, Temporary Electricity boxes, jobs, toilets, sewerage pipes that are burst.
Police managed to calm them down and after sometime they dispersed peacefully, no one was injured during the protest.
