The Head of the Office of the Deputy Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Khaya Somgqeza has been killed in a car accident in the Eastern Cape.
The accident happened near Mthatha on Friday.
His death came less than a week after Johannesburg Mayor, Jolidee Matongo was killed in a car accident on the Golden Highway, south of the city.
The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Ronald Lamola says he is deeply saddened by Somgqeza’s passing.
"He was an experienced public servant who executed his responsibilities with immense dedication and commitment", Lamola said.
