The ad-hoc committee of the National Council of Provinces will hold its public hearings on the so-called secrecy bill in the Eastern Cape today.
Three groups have been dispatched to conduct public hearings in Nelson Mandela Bay, Mthatha and Barkley East.
The NCOP is considering the controversial bill after it was passed in parliament last year despite widespread opposition.
The Bill could still face a constitutional challenge if it becomes law.
