The ad-hoc committee of the National Council of Provinces will hold its public hearings on the so-called secrecy bill in the Eastern Cape tomorrow.
Three groups have been dispatched to conduct public hearings in Nelson Mandela Bay, Mthatha and Barkley East.
The NCOP is considering the controversial bill after it was passed in parliament last year despite widespread opposition. The Bill could still face a constitutional challenge if it becomes law.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Alliance in the Eastern Cape is upset that only ANC members have been seconded to accompany the NCOP committee members at the public hearings.
DA leader in the house, Bobby Stevenson says he is outraged that there is no multi party delegation to accompany the NCOP.
"If you consider the importance of the secrecy bill and the implications it has for the dissemination of free information in this country, then the exclusion of other party's undermines the democratic process that the legislature has become accustomed to," Stevenson said.
He says he has written a letter to the Speaker seeking an explanation.
