Eastern Cape police said an extensive search was underway for a spaza shop owner and her employee from Kidds Beach outside East London who have been missing since Sunday.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, identified them as 57-year-old Zoleka Gantana and 27-year-old Kholosa Mpunga, from Ncera Village 7 in Kidds Beach.
He said a neighbour raised the alarm with their families after finding the spaza shop unattended on Sunday and with several items missing.
“The owner's vehicle, a white Isuzu Bakkie single cab with registration number HVH 157 EC was also missing,” Nkohli said.
He said a case of housebreaking and theft was opened with the possibility of additional charges being investigated at a later stage.
