Police in Fort Beaufort in the Eastern Cape are searching for five suspects following a business robbery and shootout in the town on Tuesday.
Police said the armed suspects entered a business at around 8 AM and demanded cash.
Spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa said a shootout ensued between the suspects and security officials.
However, she said no one was injured.
Colonel Mawisa said the suspects fled in a waiting vehicle with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The car was later found abandoned at the Kwa Nondyola location outside Fort Beaufort, and the suspects reportedly fled into the forest on foot.
A case of business robbery is under investigation.
